The Ranchmen
consist of five ranchers and one farmer, so we named ourselves the Ranchmen.
We have been playing mostly in the Southwest part of the province and seem to
be the regular dance band at the Cowboy Poetry Festival and Western art gathering
in Maple Creek, SK and any of the recent annual zone meetings for the local
Saskatchewan Stock Growers Association. We have played most of the large venues
around Eastend such as Claydon, Robsart, Piapot, Shaunavon, Maple Creek and
Leader. Fame and fortune has not gone to our heads as we all continue to ranch,
farm and play music when we can. We were looking for a major sponsor but Kokanee
said they preferred to stay out of the entertainment business for the time being!
